Once we are born into this world, we have zero thoughts of retirement come to the picture in our life. Retirement doesn’t come up for most until after graduation right after started to enter the workforce. When we were young, we had lived our day by seeking for abundance enjoyment and happiness. Such as the delicious food for lunch or the evening fun-filled activity of a hide-and-seek game with our neighbourhood friends. Happiness had been our daily achievement. There was no delay gratification of waiting the happy day to come on retirement day. As we grew, our parents, the society norm clouded us with concepts based on their true life experience. It must be the human ego to be smart and to be right all the time. Our smartness is bounded by the vast information from the years of experience, combined with the knowledge that we had learned in our life journey. That smart substance is hard fused in our mind as part of our belief system and values. Thus, agreeing with the external perspective, at some point, is in conflict with ours.

The butterfly is a beautiful creature. Butterflies have been universally used to symbolize beauty, freedom and kindness. However, do you know that all butterflies were once caterpillar? They are born as caterpillars, then change into pupae which give rise to a butterfly (or moth).
Therefore, to me, the butterfly is also a metaphor for growth and transformation.
